What is to be understood by "Sephirothe"?
"Sephiroth" is the plural of "Sephirah."
Actually it is the Greek "spheres" but in
Hebrew it also means "number." Corresponding to the 10
spheres of Ptolematic astronomy and the 10 "numbers" of
the book 'Yetsirah', "Sephiroth" stands for 10 active
primeval ideas or metaphysical primeval forces which represent the
mediation between the absolute Godhead and the whole world.
